I don’t know who thinks of Apple as s company that values human life anymore, but just in case: Acting on a demand from the Trump administration, Apple has removed apps that let iPhone users report the locations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
This would not be quite as big of a deal if alternative App Stores were allowed like they are in the EU. But it would still be a shit move that gets people abducted.
"We reached out to Apple today demanding they remove the ICEBlock app from their App Store—and Apple did so," Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement to Fox News yesterday. -

Cloudflare is not as thorough as Anubis, but it is a little less intrusive. Maybe for my case, their ML-based way of identifying scrapers will work. If not, yeah, Anubis it is. -

It took me an hour today to figure out what dinners we should have this week, what food we have, and what food we need to get. It doesn't take me that long every week (nor do I have to do it every week), but it is always a significant chunk of time.Comments
I just realized that we do now have 140 days of dinners logged, though, so I could now make a randomizer that has a decent pool of choices to pull from, which could help speed up the meal picking part of the process. -
I'm a little shocked by how regional Vienna Beef is. They're hot dogs — grocery stores all over should buy them!Comments
In the Massachusetts area, they're not in any grocery store. According to Vienna Beef's locator, you can only get one by buying a cooked one at Shake Shack. Or you can have them shipped in a freezer pack. It's $100 for 48, making them well over $2 per dog. Eh, maybe I'll do it someday anyway. -
Rick Caraviello, who ran for mayor a couple of years ago and lost, is now running for city council. He supports ICE. That's way worse than I thought he was. I figured he was just a corrupt small-C conservative that just wants to say no to everything except whatever his elderly base wants.Comments
