West Question, East Answer

This is surreal and good. It's a Korean German woman talking to her grandmother, who fled to South Korea, then Germany about her history. They never get there, but there's interesting atmosphere.

Sometimes I worry (without sufficient evidence) that the guy is having a tough time at school. Yesterday, it was because he seemed sedate at pick up and the ran over to play with his old preschool (who are smaller and always listen to him), away from his current friends his age, who are mostly bigger than him, and sometimes, he has trouble getting their attention. Plus, he seemed to have been very itchy that day.

The actual causes for him preferring his (literal) old school friends yesterday could actually be anything, obviously, so I backed away from the Cliff of Unhelpful Speculating While You're Mentally Exhausted.

Anyway, this morning, he spontaneously started singing about how he's excited about today.

I played Untitled Goose Game, which was funny, but a little less interesting than watching Katt play it.

However, it made me want to play Breath of the Wild, which has similar music, scenery, and dynamics.

After I fell off a cliff and died, I had a hankering for Dark Souls, where I fell off a cliff and died.

Then, I played some Slay the Spire, where I died on the third level, as usual.

I think I really needed some virtual death today!

Just one set of ten today; limited time.

You know, I really could use some time to just study stuff.

Another interview, another talk given. I think I did a decent job presenting what I am! I get the feeling I didn't connect, though, but again, you never really know how an interviewer is perceiving you.

The asymmetry of Internet identity

This exact problem has stopped me, or at least delayed, me from pursuing quite a few ideas that involve user data. I don't want people to have to be tracked by Google in order to use my apps. But I also don't have a way of authenticating people that I'm comfortable with. Though, I should probably give it a shot to make sure it's as much trouble/danger as a think it is.

All right. Finally "finished" my talk (it's actually too long and still needs cuts); it wasn't an unpleasant task once I got past the blocks, but it was actually really time-consuming to hunt down artifacts from my projects and to remember what I did and why I did them.

Onions dipped in blood

Started writing this talk, I am blocked a dot f for some reason. Talked out/wrote down three slides.

I think the key thing it never occurred to me to explain about blowing your nose is to NOT squeeze your nose, even though it looks like that's blowing their nose is doing that.

I got a cold Monday and prepared a talk for an interview, did an interview Tuesday, got invited to another interview on Wednesday and met with various people at work about potential career changes, got something promising almost sorta working during hack days at work on Thursday and Friday, got an offer on Friday, got couple hours to nap on Saturday thanks to Katt taking the guy to a transportation nexus and ran D&D (not my most captivating work, but I think some fun was had).

Today, I think my cold (which has been mild but tiring) may be over? And I have to prepare another talk at some point today.

It's been a dense time! But I'm not as dead as I thought I would be. The weight of Big Decisions hangs over me, but I'm mostly pretending it's not there until I get through some stuff here.

I spent a whole school meeting thinking something they were talking about was like 20 times more expensive than it actually was. School and corporate scales are really different.

A set of burpees; 2-10-10 pull-ups at home. Back in the game I thought; no nose running. But then after getting to school, I got a nosebleed. Hooray.

Annoyed that my nose has dripped continuously for five hours, but grateful I don't have the kind of cold that hurts.
