The last day of preschool has started. It's been a really good year for him. Hopefully, "real" school is as good, but already, it seems like it's going to be more challenging, logistically.
I think I did an OK job of mingling at the breakfast and saying goodbye to the teachers. 4/5 on adult social practices! -

Last weekend's birthday party was a success, but it wore me out enough that I didn't bother to say anything about it. That's the problem with using this as a representative record of life, possible future archeologists.

That's true, and I don't see that acknowledged very often. -
I'm very wary of animations in apps that are a waste of everyone's time, but sometimes, they help. I added this transition to Observatory because it was jarring when that filter panel just disappeared immediately as soon as you clicked a filter. I may change my mind about this later, but right now, even though the transition does take a second, it makes that interaction less bewildering.

Looks like there was a rather sizeable Hong Kong support protest (and counterprotest) in Boston. This Talking Politics episode provides some background on what's going on there. The tl;dr is that China is trying to fast-forward past the promised 50-year "one country, two systems" and into the "just do what we say like the rest of the country," and protestors are opposing that.
