I think my newsletters are too long. Unsure I'd get to the end of it were I not the author. Maybe I'll try doing them more often so they can be shorter.

Not that I'm a serious people photographer, but a thing that I'd have to do to be one is ask people if I could take their picture. *shiver* Something in me just really does not want to be in that situation.

Felix, though, has no problem takes pictures of his accountant and seems to have a really close relationship with him, much like Hank Hill and his various service professionals.

I've started reading Toward a Political Theory of the Firm (PDF, via BitWorking).

Since before Trump's election, I've thought about how corporations are gaining the power to control governments to a degree since since they control so much data. We've since seen that they can tip elections in many parts of the world and can enable genocide.

The start of this paper, though, makes me think it may not be the data. It discusses the East India Company, which in the 19th century, acted like a government. It ruled Bengal, and it instigated wars against China. This is an old problem.

OK, there is finally a bill to restore Net Neutrality! It is really, really important that you call your congressman to let them know you want them to support it. If you don't want to use that widget, just look up your congressman's office's number and call that.

You might assume that because you have a liberal congressman that they will automatically support it. 1) That's not a safe assumption — my congressman, Ayanna Pressley, never has a stated position on Net Neutrality whenever I call her office. 2) You should call even if your congressman does support so that they know they have your backing.

Given that there's so many things we can't trust of late, wondering whether or not you're not getting connections to certain servers because they didn't pay Verizon as much as someone else is something you don't need.
