The MIT Media Lab knew Epstein was a pedophile.Forwarding the response to a member of his staff, Ito wrote, “Make sure this gets accounted for as anonymous.” Peter Cohen, the M.I.T. Media Lab’s Director of Development and Strategy at the time, reiterated, “Jeffrey money, needs to be anonymous. Thanks.”
Besides the astounding unspoken years-long agreement among the Media Lab leadership to take money from a known pedophile, I'm a little surprised at how much outside funding they need. And why? Mostly, I know that they're "cool" but can't really think of anything really good that they've done. Surely, some of that is just my ignorance, but I suspect some of it is that the Media Lab is largely there to perpetuate itself.
