The old Roomba had trouble getting back to its base upstairs and so was never charged and never ran unless we found it and picked up and put it in the base, which we gradually stopped doing. It seems like it can handle getting back when it’s confined to half of the basement.

Interview with a recycler in Reykjavik, Iceland. He works four hours a day taking discarded bottles to recycling and says he makes a good living at it. I don’t know exactly what “good” means, but he pays for his “own” apartment —that he presumably lives in without roommates. That alone is huge. In many US cities, you can’t even do that working as a software engineer forty hours a week. He’s done it for eighteen years.

He said he does it because he doesn’t want to work for somebody else. I relate so hard to this. Where is my recycling job??

On not Bandcamp because I guess classical music business shies away from it, I pre-ordered Mozart y Mambo because it has the liveliest version of Horn Concerto No. 4. https://www.prestomusic.com/classical/products/9499481--mozart-y-mambo-la-bella-cubana I didn't really want to preorder, but eh, what can you do.

The soul takes rebirth for eight reasons:

3. To enjoy the meritorious fruits: Sometimes a person performs excessive meritorious deeds and dies, then the soul is reborn to enjoy the fruits of those meritorious deeds.
You get forced to redeem your points if you’re piling too many up!
5. To take revenge: The soul takes rebirth to take revenge on someone. If a person is killed by deceit, fraud or by giving any other kind of torture, then that soul definitely takes rebirth.
But in order to avoid a two-soul infinite rebirth loop, the soul is NOT reborn if it was killed for revenge, I’m guessing!
6. To retaliate.
This is probably an automated translation issue, but maybe retaliation is broader than revenge? Like, someone ate your leftovers, and now you must eat their leftovers!

I came across Warface in my music library, who I haven't listened to in a long time. Still solid-sounding!

I wondered what happened to Laura Christine. Women death metal guitarists are still uncommon today, but were much less common in the aughts.

Apparently, teaching guitar and still playing in bands. She not only joined Dark Angel, but also married Gene Hoglan.

Once again, metal-archives.com proves very handy.

Well, no one showed to business night, and I probably would not have showed a few months ago either, so I understand.

I did get my Society6 auto uploader to get through publishing a design on its own. Though the Society 6 designs thing probably won't work out, it is good to know how to a post to a platform that doesn't provide an API for future stuff.

I also looked at how many searches are happening for various other ideas I had with Google Keyword Planner. I think I may have shot all of them down. Most of them do not have more than 1K searches per month.

Alex gave me a guitar. It’s a Fender Squier, so I feel free to mess it up. The first thing I did was change the strings and tune down to B. Kinda cool, but the floppy strings feel very awkward, so I might actually buy heavy strings.

I might see if there’s some interesting cheap pickups out there. And I’m also considering cutting the body into another shape.
