The biggest problem with three-wheelToo real
saws is that the frame isn't rigid enough to properly tension blades that are more than ⅜ in. wide. This is because the triangular frame design is inherently weak and can't apply the pressure that is needed to tension all but the smallest of blades.
Without adequate tension, the blade flexes in a heavy cut and spoils the workpiece.

tracking blades, they lack frame stiffness, and their small-diameter wheels are prone to breaking blades. I speak from unfortunate experience with a three-wheeled saw. My first bandsaw was a 1950s three-
wheeler, and although it was a sturdy machine, I soon discovered the many disadvantages of this type of saw. Most manufacturers have abandoned this problem-
plagued design. The only three-wheeled
bandsaws I've seen recently are the lightweight benchtop models.
