- Sanded, then put some wood oil on the boards that are going to be in my tribute to the concept of floors.
- Went to the DPW to get rid of the massive amount of cardboard that the bandsaw was shipped in. Felt good! People who both visit and work at the recycling center always seem happy and friendly. Maybe they all feel good about getting rid of stuff.
- Went to the bank allll the way in Somerville to finally take care of something that had to be done in person. A couple of months ago, I tried to start changing banks to something closer, but the new bank made it so that both Katt and I had to be there in person, so I gave up.
- Paid the insulation guys. I actually had to ping them about paying. They did a really good job, so I would have been happy to pay them earlier.
- Glued the floor boards down.
- Made dinner.
- Unpacked more boxes, found homes for most of the stuff in them. Tried to squeeze some things in the attic, and even moved my fence section up there to serve as a platform atop the insulation, but the attic door is narrow, it turns out.
- With Katt's help, moved the kitchen island (the workbench-to-be) into the cleared space in the basement.
- Started stripping the plastic veneer off of the kitchen island. It's gonna take a while, so I stopped after a few minutes to avoid getting it into my head that I was going to do it all tonight.
- Pinged the kitchen remodeling people to see if they've decided we have a chance of talking to them in the spring.
- Sent stuff the window installers said they need for an estimate.
- Katt actually got the guy into a swimming class (they were all gone within ten minutes of opening up), but it conflicts with his cooking class, so I inquired about cancelling that. And I guess someone is working nights at Medford Recreation. It's cancelled!
On one hand, I did a lot of things that I've been meaning to do for a long time. On the other, I also mean to finish Flooding by the end of the year, so I can't spend my next block of free time without working on it.
