- Added a section to Suspension.
- Job. Progress was made, if grindingly.
- Unpacked a few more boxes.
- Cleaned out the humidifiers.
- Vacuumed (all the floors — the Stick sometimes has enough charge to make it all the way!)
- Ordered some blinds. This is surprisingly difficult because commerce web sites are terrible of late.
- Hung up some art and shelves.
- I bought a TV. This took 1.5 hours because it is now very difficult to find a non-smart TV (meaning a TV that won't change its behavior and functionality as a result of firmware updates and the availability of remote services) even if you're willing to settle for shipping that takes a month.

A few seconds ago: I will *not* be making myself French toast today.

- Started working on Suspension again. I think I finally know how the second session should go.
- Paid property tax, water bill. I do not fully understand how sewer charges are determined.
- Job.
- Met with the teacher. A lot what cleared up about how the operate and what's been going on in class. It was pretty big relief.
- Unpacked more books, cleared more stuff. Now some previously blocked shelves in the back of the basement can be easily walked to. The new bookcase is full, though, so we have to work on finding more or getting someone to build built-ins.

That's it. I was pretty tired today again, and my back isn't back yet. Despite all that, it was a good day, mostly because of that conference.

- Talked to gutter estimator, booked cleaning/repair.
- Registered to vote at my new address. Maybe too late? 😬
- Job. I continue to struggle to avoid passing judgment on something that was made unnecessarily complex.
- Mass Save automatically booked an insulation contractor even though I said I'd choose one myself later. That contractor called me. So, I looked up the business on the Secretary of State site and found the owner. Then, I looked up the owner and found that he had been charged with threatening someone with a knife. So, I had to call Mass Save and tell them I did not want that guy.
- Made dinner.
- Emailed a friend back.
- Went through a bunch of reviews and owner searches and selected an insulation contractor. I really hate this kind of thing. You have to be careful, and it's not rewarding. Really feels like you're wasting life.
- Filled out the Mass Save loan application.

I think I was actually tired all day without realizing it until halfway through.

Via Disquiet: the FDA is allowing hearing aids to be purchased over-the-counter. This will get consumer audio companies to make hearing aids.

This is a pretty huge change. I used to work at a hearing aid company, which enjoyed a kind of cartel-like situation. There were only six hearing aid companies, and they tacitly (I assume it was tacit, but who knows) agreed on prices. There were some quality problems, especially around noisy environments, that they never seemed to get past for decades. Maybe getting dozens of other groups working on it will finally allow people to hear conversations in restaurants.

Also interesting is that they play a lot of D&D in these cafes, and the Iranian morality police don't really care. In the US, if there were morality police that had actual government power, they would have been all over it.

One thing I learned from the racist LA city counselors incident is that Oaxacans are discriminated against inside of and outside of Mexico. Humanity!

Tiny (four-minute?) run, 14 pull-ups. I’m paranoid about bringing back the sciatica and back problems, but it did feel good to run a bit.

- Listened through and labeled maybe twenty riffs? Most of the labeling was renaming recordings named like "New Recording 385" to "Theme 385".
- Job. As it happens at every job, I came acress some code I dislike that it's not worth the effort to change. I gotta move on past the alienation and get on with the fascination, as positive-mental-attitude-havers Rush say. It's a bit much to ask me to get on with the fascination, but I think I did the first part.

- Went to the open house for the social class. Gained a few insights and got a feel for how the classes go. I wasn't like Aha! but in the end, I can't argue with the results.
- Client D work. Added a bunch of parts, then stripped them all off.
- Found out my classroom coordinator volunteer gig involves gathering email addresses of the class's parents. I kinda thought they'd just give them to you. Started scraping a few, emailed the volunteer coordinator about how I'm supposed to get the rest.
- Actually got logistically ahead of the game for once and scheduled November D&D.

Really found myself wanting to interact with physical objects, rather than computers, today. Writing on the tablet helped a bit with that.

30 push-ups. My back is still stiff. The more I think about it, the more likely it was hauling the bookcase to the car. I continue to need to be more careful about that kind of thing.

It took me a while to figure out what they're telling you not to mix in this old poster are the activities of drinking and driving, not literally mixing whiskey with gasoline.

- Signed up to be some kind of email coordinator for the guy's class. Felt I should, but immediately got worried it'd be a lot of work.
- Met with therapist. Mostly talked about how to deal with people in schools, which was helpful, but I'm not all that sure I feel any less tense about it.
- Took the guy to social class.
- Got groceries.
- Made dinner. I thought it was good, but it was quite the ordeal for the guy, except for the grilled bread.
- Went to the music programming group. It was really good. I figured out, after a while, that the envelopes weren't being applied at all in Flooding. After applying them, I realized the exponential ramps were fighting each other, and Joe told me about https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/AudioParam/setValueCurveAtTime, which is way more predictable than the other ramps. So, now I have events that actually sound like they start and stop when I intend them to. Maybe this piece can be completed in 2022!

There was a song playing at the grocery store that I thought was Pearl Jam. It was “I Only Wanna Be with You” by Hootie and the Blowfish. Those ‘90s bands blend together after a few decades.
