Huh, I had to stop halfway through shoveling, not because of any sort of back issue, but because whatever muscle in the hands that connects the wrist to the pinky knuckle started hurting like hell.

I tried to help a neighbor out this morning with jumper cables. He had a hybrid, though, and we could not figure out how to get to the battery that mattered. We did charge the small battery in the back, though, which enabled him to turn on his lights and radio.
I still have an old timey gas car. It’s good enough for my once a week driving needs, and I hope that by the time it expires, I somehow won’t need another car.
So, it was a shock to see an alternate car anatomy. It reminded me of some dinosaurs having an extra brain. (This may be invalidated at this point.)
Also, it would have been worth trying to get a whole bunch of extension cords together to plug it into his house. -
Took the guy out and watched him play for an hour did some dad chatting. I wore regular shoes, and it’s 25°F. Now my toes need to be amputated.

Eric wrote a very thorough essay about Mega Man. Besides liking Mega Man material, I really like this as an example of the ability of the human mind to recognize patterns and create cohesive stories around signals that may not have originated from an intentional design.

35-minute run, 12 pull-ups. Warmed up beforehand this time, so I didn’t get the crunchy knees!

36-minute run. 12 pull-ups. I got out late because I was having fun with a project I had wanted to do for about year. So, it was dark and 30°F. I wanted to quit immediately, but once you get warmed up, it’s actually a good running temperature.

AT&T told me they’d transfer my number on Saturday. Today, I called, and it turns out they did nothing but run a credit check on me, which actually hurts my credit score.
They are not worth dealing with unless you’re getting free service from them via your employer. It actually wasn’t worth this much work to transfer my number. -

It’s really nice to have a back that’s not messed up and to be able to get out of bed without doing an awkward roll so that your legs plant themselves on the floor in way that lets you stand up by pushing with you arms, using no back muscles.

I did 46 takes of a guitar part then found out while mixing that one section actually wasn’t in the time signature I thought it was, making it not line up with with the other guitar part I wrote, so now I gotta redo it.
There was a time when this would have been really disgusting, but I’m the Alan Keyes of guitar playing at this point, so I feel good for having even picked up the guitar. -
When I break out of writing in 4/4, I often don’t know what time signature I’m in until I record and measure it. Despite actually having had a music education, I basically make outsider art.

Sweden is sticking to its bizarre, US-like approach to the coronavirus. Predictably, it’s not going well.
State epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said repeatedly in the spring that Stockholm would soon reach herd immunity, but it has been hard hit again in the second wave.
Bjorn Eriksson, Stockholm’s director of healthcare, said this week that the region had only one intensive care bed vacant. “It cannot be worth this for after-work drinks, to do Christmas shopping or meet people outside your household. The consequences are awful.”
