"With the results of the 2020 presidential election now apparent, leadership of the FCC will undoubtedly be changing," Pai was told yesterday in a letter from House Democrats, namely Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-N.J.) and Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Mike Doyle (D-Pa.). "As a traditional part of the peaceful transfer of power—and as part of our oversight responsibilities—we strongly urge the agency to only pursue consensus and administrative matters that are non-partisan for the remainder of your tenure."

This person calling into Reply All gets across how hard it is just go “oh well” about many people there are that demonstratively approve of a blatantly racist president. There’s also disturbing anecdotes in that episode about people of color also buying into conspiracy theories that also get them to support Trump. There’s just so many ways to be disappointed here.

It's not exactly natural. I've never been in a library that abuts a forest. But it works!

I understand people being done with US democracy. But if you're not planning to leave the country in the next year, I think the best bang for the buck is to donate to Raphael Warnock's and Jon Ossoff's campaigns for the Senate runoffs in Georgia. Wins here would mean the Democrats and Republicans both have 50 senators, and the vice president would break ties. Mitch McConnell must be stopped if any sanity is to be restored. He's too careful to get the coronavirus. There's no other way.

I was wondering why Masayoshi Son has a monosyllabic surname. I’ve never seen a Japanese surname like it. Turns out it is a Korean name.
Son is a 3rd generation "Zainichi Korean", which are ethnic Koreans with permanent residency or citizenship in Japan.
