- Made the Fucking Bible.
- Went to the library. I think this was a good choice for the one indoor public place we risk going to. It's sparsely populated, well-ventilated, and both grown-up and kid alike can deeply chill here.
- Did not get rid of any permanent objects, but we did return 20 books to the library.
- Wrote a Pure Data patch so I can make the spectacle that is Searching the Bog.

I thought I'd get a podcast episode assembled, but here we are at 11:30 (would have been 12:30) if it daylight savings hadn't happened).

I read about the development of Stardew Valley in Blood, Sweat, and Pixels. One guy worked on it for five years straight. I had wondered how he did it. It turned out he worked on it full-time while his girlfriend supported him.

In a way, that’s a harsher existence because he had no breaks from it. But I guess I was hoping to hear about the triumph of part-time persistence, about someone that enjoyed life and fulfilled responsibilities, while making a dream game.

I was a little disappointed by this ending of this comic, The Autograph Collector, but it is still a good read that captures the feel of a certain kind of mystery that can happen in a regular person’s life.

I’m maybe in the 20th percentile for a desire to socialize, but I still feel really hamstrung by every gathering requiring a risk calculation, especially for kid stuff.

- Got the Pi ZeroW set up enough that it has a static IP and can be SSH'd into. Still kind of amazed that computers can be that small.
- Re-recorded a podcast segment.
- Recorded another podcast segment.
- Did some laundry.
- Went to a new audio DSP group. Unsure I'll be able to keep up with that one and the Puckette one, but it'll be nice to have more people to talk about this stuff with even if I don't.
- Today's removed object was small: I re-donated the Christmas with Zamfir tape to Goodwill.
- Made dinner.

Whenever my funeral happens, I hope it gets billed as a “Death Funeral.”

- Picked up, dropped off, picked up, dropped off.
- Filled out a bunch of stuff so I could connect my business bank account to Wave and accept payments there.
- Sent an invoice.
- I'm going to admit: I spent about half an hour trying to figure out the zip code that would let me use the $7.51 virtual debit card I got from a class action lawsuit before I cut myself off for the day. I'm determined to not let the lawyers and prepaid card companies to be the only ones to benefit from this.
- Got the guy an earlier vaccination appointment! Looked at a bunch of things on Vaxfinder, but ultimately, the clinic held by the city was able to get us one sooner.
- Modified the pd version of the vocoder to take snapshots of the signal (be it actual audio signal or part of a FFT result) every n blocks. I tried for a long time to get the snapshots into text files so that they're just like the ones from the Juce version of the vocoder, and I can compare them more effectively. However, the `text` object takes messages, and I can't seem to go from signals to messages. I thought of using the `soundfiler` object instead, but that will write to an audio format (and some of these intermediate signals are not audio signals) and probably lose values outside of -1.0 and 1.0. But if I can't come up with anything better, maybe I'll try and see if it won't crunch those out.
- Made myself some chicken soup for lunch.
- Went out and got a micro SD card so I can use this Raspberry Pi ZeroW I bought for $5 a long time ago. (The micro SD card cost $18.)
- Made dinner. It was stew, and the guy said it smelled good. But of course, he complained bitterly when it was time to actually eat it. It was a long dinner. (I thought it might actually have been the best beef stew I've ever made.)
- Folded laundry.
- Objects removed from the house today: An old cardboard box with holes cut in it, some old buttons, a couple of wooden trays.

12 pull-ups. Almost forgot to work out again. I guess I really have to work out in the mornings.

I need a micro SD card, but it feels wasteful to go to a store for something so small or to have it shipped. There should be little coin-operated dispensers of them on street corners.

- Revised a name on the contract; actually got it back signed, 16 days after we started talking. Work on this might actually start Monday!
- Filed an "annual report" for my LLC with the state, which is actually mostly about paying them $520.
- Read some Piketty.
- Cleaned some of the kitchen. There were some stains that required real elbow grease!
- I asked the guy, and he said he wants to keep his work from first grade. (I was hoping I could just chuck most of it.) So, I have started putting the first grade stuff on his desk into a box. Ideally, he'd do it, but it takes a lot of dad energy to make that happen, so I'm skipping that particular battle.
- Returned some books to the library.
- Today's objects removed from the house: A box we used to use for making stop-motion video that has been outmoded by Lego fixtures, old rugs that used to be glued to the cat shelves that we now use as regular shelves, and a bag with a styrofoam rod in it that turned out to be part of the IKEA Klippan we no longer have.
- Made dinner.
- Listened to other people's songs at a few different song-posting places. I don't do this often enough. Besides it being nice to do unto others, etc., it's good to know what other amateurs are doing.
- "Helped" the guy with his new Scratch project, by which I mean I'd suggest where to click if he was out ideas. (I feel someone should be there with him because a computer is unfortunately a multipurpose tool and anything can happen.) The last time he tried Scratch, he didn't read this well. Now he just reads widgets and tries dragging them into the staging view.
- Wrote the D&D recap email. As I knew, 10 days later is too late to recall details about the game without struggling. I should have written notes the next day.

I didn't do that much hard stuff today, and I think that's OK, especially given how intense yesterday was.

35-minute run. 13 pull-ups. I guess those goofy wristbands that ‘80s runners wore served a real purpose. My wrist got cold!
