As usual, I really enjoy myself when I’m between jobs! I guess I have some amount of dread at a lot of jobs that is so ever present that it gets pushed into the unconscious. Feels light to not have that, though.

Of course, this has grim implications about the proportion of the rest of my life I’m likely to spend feeling free. But I’m going to feel free to put that aside for now.

I made a salad dressing. The recipe said it should be 1/3 dashi by volume.

When I started eating it, I thought it was intense but could be good. By the end of the salad, I thought it was just intense.

Huh, I was looking at Method Man's Wikipedia entry and found out that one of his kids, Raekwon Smith, is playing college football. More interesting to me is that he graduated from Curtis High School in Staten Island. Meaning Method Man stayed in Shaolin!

School ratings sites have to be taken with several grains of salt, but this one gives Curtis High School a good rating. It's only three miles away from Killah Hills.

While I'm giving you the Wu-Tang news, Raekwon (original Raekwon) opened a coffee shop in Staten Island last year.

Fully cleaned the upstairs bathroom, Lysoling the floors, behind the toilet, under the litter box, and in the tub. Nothing like the “I may or may not be smelling cat pee” feeling to get one onto that, post-haste!

I jumped on the Trizoe bandwagon, and I have to say, it is a really good knife sharpener. There might be better mechanical knife sharpeners, but it is way better than using one of those manual things. And it is really enjoyable to cut things easily.

Well, I wrapped up one job. Two weeks until the next job.

I found myself really trying to get the last thing I did in shape, even though I knew it was going into the garbage. What was that about? To show them I'm reliable or something? Who knows. I may have just absorbed too much Puritan work culture.

Anyway, doing those final `docker compose down`s felt good.

The guy walked to school carrying a large poster board with text of varying sizes on it. I realized the difference between a school project poster and the poster board of an unhinged guy standing outside of a CVS do not scan all that differently!

Kenji’s dry-fries green bean recipe uses balsamic vinegar and sugar to add sourness and sweetness. Kylie Kwong’s recipe uses hoisin sauce for that, which is way easier. This one was still good, though.
