Battles of the Sexes: Duels between Women and Men in 1400s FechtbücherComments
tl;dr These battles didn’t really happen, but these medieval drawings really did happen, and they’re good.
We can leave behind the gender roles here, but make hole fighting happen! -

I'm surprised. Sweden really seems to be moving to the right lately, what with the wishful "herd immunity" approach to covid and electing actual Nazis. -

…aaand I’m back to regretting chickening out of leaving the country.Comments
We learned that the boy brought the gun to school. He pulled it out while the teacher was doing a lesson. He pointed it at her, and he fired once. We learned that she was shot sort of in the palm and in the upper chest by the same bullet. You know, after she'd been shot, she was able to get all the kids - other kids out of the classroom, out of danger before she was tended to for her injuries.

I realized I wasn't really using the vim shortcut layer on my keyboard (there were only four shortcuts anyway), so I cut that entirely. I also realized that, most of the time, I'm only going to the numeric layer for one key at a time, and I sometimes forget I'm on that layer. So, I replaced my persisting layer toggle key with a one-shot layer switch.Comments
So far, it's working well, though I do have moments of disorientation, like when you're playing Zelda Second Quest, and the dungeons aren't where you think they are. -
I didn't go to the music programming group today, but I did add support for non-looping samples to Flooding so that the narration works correctly now.Comments
Right now, I have narration recordings I did with my own voice as a placeholder. I started to make TTS versions of them, but Google TTS does not sound right when saying short phrases. It sounds like a phone alert. I kind of wanted something robotic-sounding for Sound of the Far Future, but that doesn't work here.
So, maybe I can find a voice actor or I can try to sound more neutral. The thing is, can you ever sound neutral to yourself? -

I fixed a bug in note-taker that's been there since the start.Comments
If a media file (like a picture or audio file) was sent to note-taker that had the same filename as an existing file on the web server, it would just overwrite it. I didn't notice it because filenames that I use tend to be unique, but every time you edit a video on iOS, the resulting video is named FullSizeRender.mov. So, I've been overwriting FullSizeRender.mov files for four years! Hopefully, I can get some of those back at some point. -
