I made the mistake of making my media playing computer the one that does the downloading instead of the Raspberry Pi that is the media server and is hooked up to the 5 TB drive. As a result, the media playing computer, which was formerly my personal laptop, has filled up with stuff not yet uploaded to the media server.

A lot of the space there was taken up by my personal projects. I, after making sure projects I cared about were either on my current computer or on GitHub, delete 20 GB of them (though most of the bulk was `node_modules`). While doing it, I saw a lot of projects that either never went anywhere or went somewhere but not far enough. A lot of lists like this:

Canada and the Catholic Church took indigenous children away from their families and put them in what the called residential schools, where the kids had no advocates and were abused mentally, physically, and sexually.

Recently, there have been church burnings in Canada. While listening to a podcast (CBC Front Burner) about that, I learned that the unmarked graves of 215 indigenous children on residential school grounds have been discovered.
The gruesome discovery took decades and for some survivors of the Kamloops Indian Residential School in Canada, the confirmation that children as young as 3 were buried on school grounds crystallizes the sorrow they have carried all their lives.
And then another 750 unmarked children's graves were discovered.

Just absolutely jaw-dropping.

I have to say this immediately made me forget about the burning of some empty buildings. Imagine someone taking your children away, abusing them, then killing them, then telling you that they don't know what happened to them.

Honestly, there is no way the institutions or individuals that killed all of these kids will have to make up for what they've done.

Hey, four months after getting on the wait list, we got into the Cambridge Math Circle. It’s fortunate because I was asked for a math challenge yesterday (he wanted to do it to get extra screen time), and I had trouble thinking up something on the spot that was both not unreasonable and not too easy. I said I’d research something tomorrow. (Which is today, I guess.)

One of the reasons to avoid bubbles in the epoxy is that after they dry and are sanded, they become half-sphere holes filled with white epoxy dust that you can’t get out. My workaround for that is to mix some really watery paint so that they at least get colored, then wipe the paint off the surface surrounding the holes.

This doesn’t help you if you don’t want a bunch of dots on the surface; only if you don’t want the dots to be white.

Took a break to sand the epoxy bumps today. Best part of the workday!

It’s easy to cut down the bumps, but it’s possibly impossible to get the surface to be smooth again. Maybe I don’t have fine enough sandpaper? I guess more epoxy is the answer.

This drone footage of the Eldvörp–Svartsengi volcanoes erupting is mesmerizing, both because molten rock is splashing around like paint, but also because there's sort of a yule log like quality to it?

It wasn't mesmerizing to the guy, though, who was bored after two minutes. Nature is nothing compared to Game Builder Garage.

I actually updated my resume, wrote a cover letter, and applied for a job. I wasn't going to because unless I start a business, which doesn't seem to be happening, any job is going to be at best incrementally better and possibly worse. It's not going to be worse health insurance-wise, though, and I have to be responsible and get ahead of that before we get kicked off of our current insurance this spring.

Junior calisthenics, ab stuff, 12 pull-ups. The one leg in front stretch is incredibly hard today, so that might be a hip problem clue. Also, everything feels fine while moving, occasionally not fine while sitting.

I coated the guitar in epoxy. It was chaos. I started then realized I didn’t know how to coat the whole thing and still have it rest on something while it dries. I settled for putting it in the hanger and living with part of the neck looking messed up.

I guess people usually do this a half at a time and somehow hide the seam? Probably something I should’ve looked up before mixing the epoxy.

Shocking. The piano had an easy fix. The ground wire was disconnected from the speaker. I thought I’d have to get a new speaker and replace it. So, if you have a Technics SX-PX205 that sounds like it has a blown speaker, it could just be a loose ground.

Somehow, I end up bleeding half the time I fix something. I am undamaged this time! And 90% of the time, I am at least mentally hurt. This is the rare no-pain fix.
