One of the reasons to avoid bubbles in the epoxy is that after they dry and are sanded, they become half-sphere holes filled with white epoxy dust that you can’t get out. My workaround for that is to mix some really watery paint so that they at least get colored, then wipe the paint off the surface surrounding the holes.
This doesn’t help you if you don’t want a bunch of dots on the surface; only if you don’t want the dots to be white.
