Being able to edit object properties while the game is running in Godot (and probably Unity I'm guessing) is killer for debugging.Comments
I was having a problem in which the game cleared the level, set up the new level, and moved the guys to it, but it looked like it just blanked everything out. Being able to find the camera object, then change its properties helped me literally zoom out and spot that the new stuff was being generated really far away from the old stuff, both the tilemap and the sprites.
(Why that's happening, though, I don't know.) -
Kids start out not being able to do things with you. Then, they become able. After that, I suppose, they stop wanting to. Do your family running while you can, I suppose.Comments

Junior calisthenics, 24-minute run (with the whole team!), back workout, nine pull-ups. Had to kinda do half of the reverse flies part way because I felt fatigued and didn’t want to experience Consequences.Comments

OK, that party went well! The last time we had a birthday party was when the guy was eight. Back then, we could just get pizzas and take them to a park.Comments
Ten isn’t actually that much different, except you have to go to a place that costs money instead of a park. The interestingness of the activity at the place doesn’t matter a ton. Kids at this age seem to have fun being around each other and making each other look at things.
That said, I think they had the most fun when a balloon got loose and flew off into the sky. So, if you have to host ten-year-olds, a balloon-losing party is probably the way to optimize cost and entertainment. -

The guy and his friends are talking about torture without saying it? “The most painful thing ever.” It’s like the Torture, muthafucka! skit without swearing.Comments

The guy’s birthday party is today. We’re out of practice, and on top of that, he chose to go bowling, even though he never wants to go bowling otherwise. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comments

Things told to me by the dentist:Comments
- The floss picks will shred your gums. You’re supposed to use these rubber picks to get between them near the gums, then use soft string to get out things that are stuck.
- Years ago, I learned that brushing motion that crossed several teeth in a stroke is bad. Today, I was told that up-and-down motion is also bad because it pushes down your gums. Manual brushing in general is bad. Instead, I should get an electric toothbrush that brushes one tooth at a time.
- Common toothpaste like Aquafresh is “like using Comet on your teeth”. Even Sensodyne is too abrasive. Instead, I should be using Arm and Hammer for sensitive teeth.
- She couldn’t believe no one ever told me this. I was like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
I Will Luddite AI:Comments
Pretty much like most things in tech, though, tech exploits people outside the US and within the US to make it look like the tech is doing all these things when, in reality, tech is doing what it always does and exploits people in my country, America, and elsewhere including in so called third world countries so they can make a quick buck. At the very moment you’re reading this, someone in the global south is staring at gruesome images and applying the necessary filters to have some social media algorithm tweaked, or that very same person with the non-American accent is moderating your beloved large language model, AI, filters and tweaking the guardrails by training the chat both for little or no pay.

Hi there,
I wonder if they just spam these out hoping someone will think, I wasn’t planning to demolish anything, but you know, maybe I should!
Is residential demolition in your future? RB Hammer Demolition is here with an unmissable offer -
Well, after a couple of years, I requested a dental appointment. My gum has a split in it that bleeds when I brush my teeth. The irony is that regular toothbrushing is what I use to compensate for not going to the dentist.Comments

Junior calisthenics, old guy back workout (it’s kind of long, I now realize), eight pull-ups. Thanks to daily junior calisthenics, I didn’t feel that out of it, despite it being a while since I’ve done a workout.Comments

Washington (May 16, 2023) – Today, Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), Tina Smith (D-Minn.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), and Representatives Jerrold Nadler (NY-12), Hank Johnson (GA-04), Cori Bush (MO-01), and Adam Schiff (CA-30) announced the reintroduction of the Judiciary Act of 2023, legislation that would expand the Supreme Court by adding four seats to create a 13-Justice bench.Comments
It’s obviously not going to pass right now, but I hope they retry it every six months. -

Double trouble: Hypermobility may increase Long Covid riskComments
“The specialist at the clinic pushed along my iliotibial band and other parts of my leg,” recalled Thomas. “And he said, ‘Your muscle pain is not due to muscle damage. You’re hypermobile.’” Muscles will chronically contract to stabilize weak joints in hypermobile individuals, leading to chronic pain.
Just one thing off in your body will just domino everything else down. When I had back problems, my legs hurt like hell from making up for it.
