The guy asked for a challenge for extra video game time, so I thought of a slightly complex probability problem: Given a deck of ten cards A-10, what are the chances of drawing the exact sequence A-2-3. What are the chances of drawing A, 2, 3 in any order in three draws?Comments

I've been really tired all this week, despite sleeping 8+ hours a day. So, I took a covid test even though I have no other symptoms, other than very mild throat crudginess.Comments
I do not have covid. Maybe it's my body healing from back strain and/or IT band strain or trapezius strain?
Either way, we're now out of covid tests, and I have to figure out how to get more. I think they're no longer free, which is dumb. -

I spent literally hours trying to get Godot autocomplete working in neovim. I thought, other people have done this; once I do it, I'll be able to do fast editing forever.Comments
I had to bail, though. I got to the point at which I had to understand how lua scripting in Neovim worked to debug things, and I was like no. Do not go this way.
I'll clumsy edit in Godot; it's mostly not about the typing anyway, and my wrists are currently healthy enough to do mouse navigation while programming. -
Just spilled some lysine (in the form of a white powder) while mixing it into the cats’ food. It reminded me that if I worked in a drugs business, I’d probably get shot for spilling the cocaine on the floor all the time.Comments

I added sit-throughs, one of the jillions of things they do during their warm-ups, to junior calisthenics today and some shadow uchikomi (basically pretending to throw someone) and whew I can see how that adds up.
I guess my goal now is the be half as healthy as a child. -
It's so nice to use something fit to purpose. In Godot, rotating a vector or point around some center is so clean. It was always hellish in JavaScript for me.Comments

Since straining my lower back a couple Fridays ago doing yoga (though feeling completely fine during the yoga), the only “workout” I’ve been doing is the junior calisthenics, minus rolling breakfalls. I tried them today, and it was like some Jackass segment. Though not because of the back, which I think is close to recovered, but because of technique. I actually hit my head in the first one.Comments

I had to work until just now today. That is balls.Comments
In the past there's been time I've had to do a lot of work in a day, and those times sucked, but sometimes I learned something I could use.
Today, I mostly learned that AWS Lambdas default to updating the runtimes automatically, without your explicit say so, so the lambdas can just change behavior at any moment. Woe to you if you also update code or dependencies when it also happens to update the runtime.
That's stupid! I don't want to know that shit!
Anyway, I'm-a go eat some Chex Mix and play Balatro now. - Comments

The chapter about the concept of a universal "now" not really existing in the real universe in The Order of Time was really provocative, but I think this episode of Space Time better explains it. It also explains how the flow of time for an object depends on which way it's moving, which is implied in Rovelli's book when he talks about light cone loops.Comments
