Apple got rid of backing up voice memos to iCloud in iOS 12. So, there is no practical way to get lots of voice memos off of your iPhone onto a non-Mac computer now. Very nice, Apple.Comments

FBI raids home of former Trump national security adviser John BoltonComments
John Bolton is a shit of a man, but this is yet another horrible precedent being set. It is a El Salvador/Russia/North Korea/etc. way of government operation in which federal agents are just personal goons. -

From Vanishing Treasures by Katherine Rundell:Comments
Wombats can also fell a grown man, and have the capacity to attack backward, crushing predators against the walls of their dens with the bone-hard cartilage of their rumps. The shattered skulls of foxes have been found in wombat burrows.

Putin, the once and future ChekistComments
The same year the tanks destroyed the hopes of reformers in Prague, a 16-year-old [Putin] walked towards a place known as the Big House in Leningrad, the imposing local KGB headquarters. ‘I want to get a job with you,’ he told the official who came out to speak to him. His ambitions had been fired by what he had been watching on TV. A four-part series called The Sword and the Shield – named after the emblem of state security – had been broadcast on Russian TV that summer.

Getting “DOGED”: DOGE Targeted Him on Social Media. Then the Taliban Took His Family.Comments
About a week after DOGE outed him, Halimi’s worst fears were realized. Taliban intelligence agents in Kabul descended on the homes of his relatives and detained three of his family members. They were blindfolded, thrown into the backs of 4x4 pickup trucks and driven to a small remote prison. They were held incommunicado over several days and repeatedly beaten and questioned about Halimi and his recently publicized yet ambiguous work for the United States.

I had heard that season 2 of The Devil's Plan was disappointing toward the end, and I think we've reached that point. The second to last episode has a game that was heavily biased toward players in certain positions.Comments
It's too bad, though, because mostly, the games are better than in season 1. I personally would like to play Sniper Poker and the arrow game. The one where you had some shown and some hidden dice and had to secretly predict what your total among the other players was great, too.
Also, the players that I liked the least made it to the final, but that I can live with. I just hope the games in the final are good. -
Welp, I've applied to a total five jobs this month, and I'm honestly not even sure they're good or even OK. I reactivated my LinkedIn account because I don't see many other options for finding jobs out there. So, I guess if you also have to participate in that garbage zone, link me up.Comments

I think automatic software updates are only a good idea if you absolutely trust the developer. You have no choice (generally) with browsers and OSes because you’ll subject yourself to security exploits if you don’t update.Comments
For offline software like Obsidian, though, it’s not worth having auto-updates on. It worked fine as it was yesterday, and then an auto-update changed the text font. I don’t know what the old font was! Nothing looks right. I could have saved myself the trouble by looking for the auto-update setting and turning it off ahead of this. -

I emailed the executives at Avelo Airlines (the deportation) airlines.Comments
The emails that Ground Avelo has are: alevy@aveloair.com, bdavis@aveloair.com, jolson@aveloair.com, support@aveloair.com
Two of them, bdavis@aveloair.com and jolson@aveloair.com, bounced. They're no longer on the executive page. Looks like jolson quit.
Anyway, most likely, the current executive emails are likely to be:
alevy@aveloair.com, gbaden@aveloair.com, hgoldberg@aveloair.com, shall@aveloair.com, shopkins@aveloair.com, ahynes@aveloair.com, hkeay@aveloair.com, jkoonce@aveloair.com, gmartin@aveloair.com, jpainter@aveloair.com, ppatel@aveloair.com, mplummer@aveloair.com, mquiello@aveloair.com, tyealy@aveloair.com
Note that, except for the CEO, there's 100% turnover.
Anyway, I think you should email these guys, why not! You can use the Ground Avelo template, but really, all you need to say is that you'd never consider their very cheap flights after finding out that they're performing abductions. - Comments
