I’ve been tracking how much time I spend on things for a few months now. It’s handy to notice that some of activities I really resent like dealing with real estate don’t actually take up nearly as much time as I think. It turns out I resent them because of stress, not time. It’s also useful to validate that the things you do every day add up to dwarf the things you do in dramatic four-hour bursts infrequently.
Still, I resent the work it takes to record everything. All productivity techniques are bastards.
