I finally fixed the stupid closet door that dragged on the floor if you weren’t careful. The holes for the screws of the top hinge were completely stripped, so I moved the hinge up.
To fit the plate in the new location, it would have been nice to have a router to cut a smooth recess, but fortunately, I do not care about this old door or door frame. So, I chiseled out the new recess. (Also, I have to admit I just enjoy chiseling.)
Then, I drilled new countersinks (also known as screw holes), then reattached the door. Now it works like a normal door!
Also, I figured out why that closet smelled messed-up. There was some weird old air freshener in there.
