Today was the first day of summer vacation, and it was surprisingly chill. I asked the guy to do some writing. That's his bottleneck thing according to his teacher — he comprehends what he reads well and understands math, etc. But he takes so long to write because he doesn't like sloppy-looking letters that he doesn't get stuff done on time.
He…just did it? And had fun? As a reward, we watched a Batman episode, then went to the library. He accidentally ripped a page in a book but was really good about telling the librarian.
He added on to a Magnatile house, read some more, then went to a birthday party.
They're probably not all going to be like this, but this day was actually easier than a school day, if you factor out the amount of time we had to not be working on stuff.
