The
CanaKit micro USB card reader is too cleverly designed. You put the micro SD card
inside the USB connector.
When the card gets jammed, it’s extremely stressful. Those cards are fragile, but you need a strong enough grip on them to get them unstuck. Online forums all tell you not to use anything metal, or you’ll break the card.
I tried some plastic tweezers, which did break off part of the card and then cast about for other options.
Eventually, I just used metal needlenose pliers, and I did get it out without breaking it. It was like a tiny version of deciding whether you’re going to be able to shoot the guy holding a hostage before they shoot the hostage.
