Steely & Clevie’s 228-page complaint, the first version of which was filed in 2021, had traced the trajectory through which nearly all of Reggaeton allegedly appropriated elements from derivative versions of the original Fish Market.I don’t know enough about reggaeton to know about the merits of the case, but I did assume their riddims were really generic. Having just listened to a bit of Fish Market, though, they are very distinctive, so I at least see how they might be traced from song to song.
