I’m trying to make a portable wood version of my Lego keyboard stand. I made two of these posts with a chisel and two of them with a circular saw. The unevenness of the chiseling, especially since I wasn’t chiseling carefully was expected. I thought the circular saw cuts would be much smoother, but it’s hard to safely cut small pieces with a circular saw. I guess this is why you usually use a bandsaw for this kind of thing.
Also, I think I’m going to have to get a rail for the circular saw. I do not trust myself to use it safely with just saw horses and clamps. I found myself kind of acclimating to it, which was disturbing and a typical problem I have with risk.
I actually got the circular saw instead of a table saw because I was hoping to save space, but with rails, the space savings are lost. Oh, well.
