The new piano teacher pointed out to me that our electric piano’s pedals don’t work so I took a look today.
After moving the piano, I saw that the problem was that the pedal cord was not plugged in. This is the kind of problem I like! So, I plugged it in.
However, at first I wasn’t sure I changed anything, which is when I realized I didn’t know what the pedals are supposed to do. After looking it up, I verified that at least the left pedal was working. The the description of the function of the other two sounded very subtle, so I wasn’t sure.
At the guy’s level, I’m guessing he does not need sostenuto or una corda.
