Another example of self-reinforcing bias: I thought, hey, Game Programming Patterns is a good book! (Which it very well might actually be.)
But I thought that because the first 33 pages is all stuff I’ve already thought of and used in my previous 7DRL attempts. It’s a lot like when interviewers think a candidate that solves a problem in exactly the way that the interviewer would is better than a candidate that solves it in a different way.
