I finished putting a divider into this cabinet so that the cutting boards and baking pans could be stored vertically instead of in a big pile that had to be searched every time we needed something.
I think it’s an improvement, though I should have make the sections different widths so deeper baking pans could fit more easily. Also, that exposed particle board edge looks horrible. Maybe I can paint it.
All of the measuring, plotting, old horizontal shelf removing, sawing, and drilling and screwdriving took over two hours. I hate that! Still, it’s way less stress than finding and paying someone to do it and trusting them to do it. There’s no way to get around this cost for a really small job.
The other thing that makes this gain marginal is that we hate these cabinets, and even if we can’t get a full remodel of the kitchen, we’ll be replacing these. Still, if this improves three cooking experiences a week for six months, that’s 72 improved cooking experiences which seems worth two hours of grinding.
