KidzToPros Interview QuestionsTypical questions by and large, though very rushed and Sean was very stressed or potentially medicated.
"Potentially medicated" is a good phrase for a Glassdoor review.
While looking up stuff about KidzToPros, I found
reviews about their operation in Fremont. There are a lot of reviews like this:
Stay away, parents! This camp is totally a scam! I am so regret I didn't check other's reviews on Yelp before signing up the camp. They cancelled the camp and took my money! Do not expect to get your money back!
So, the other side of that situation is referred to on
Glassdoor:
Cons
More than 500, but i'll only post one major con. showed up to my shift at a Fremont and i couldn't work. The school told me because the company had not paid their fees to operate on campus!
And of course, there's the classic Glassdoor astroturfing:
Pros
It is a great place to work with a wonderful who have a passion for providing quality programming to children Great communication and respect from the people you work with The opportunity to work with kids and teach them new skills and lessons Working with and developing young adults who are new to the working life Having your voice heard by upper management Being a part of a company that is forging its way forward and creating a new path
Cons
I have nothing to say at this point.
That's the actual formatting. There were probably linebreaks in the original email instructions about what to paste into the fake review. The other fake-looking reviews also have sentences that are mashed together, too.
A lot of things like this, too:
Very poorly managed. Management would leave workers(some as young as 17) to care for very large groups of children without any assistance. When contacted, management would not provide sufficient answers or would ignore the contact completely. Multiple times I received a payment for far less than I was supposed to and I had to contact HR and prove I was underpaid. Very poor experience overall.
Even the positive reviews have stuff like this:
Sometimes staff don’t show up to site
...
Pros
Friendly staff and ample breaks
Cons
Long hours, unclean facilities sometimes
The adventures continue on
BBB:
Kidz to Pros offered a Unity programming class for kids but this is a bait and switch. The computers provided would not run UNITY.The camp counselor did not know anything about UNITY.No instruction was provided. It's straight up fraud. Here's the class description from the website, but the kids just goofed around online instead of learning anything about UNITY."Students will learn and practice the basics of Unity using the ** scripting language. They will learn player movement with vectors and simple physics, and move on to integrating game objects and assets. Students will need to think through game level design and the bells and whistles of first creating a complete 2D game In the 2nd week, students will create a first-person, customizable game that will require them to master 3D character control and 3D models and animation control. They will use particle systems to create explosions and effects, and implement an AI for computerized opponents."Today on the first day of camp my kid's computer could not even load UNITY and the two kids who could load it received no instruction. None. The camp did not return my calls.
So, I got into this because I was thinking of signing the guy up for a music production class that they were contracted to run by Arlington Community Education. But the details were scarce, and I was wondering who they'd got to teach there. It seems like the answer is "just whoever".
