Glenn is a smart guy. Smarter than me by most measures.
He appears to have gotten a new job.At Imbue we are trying to use computers and data and software and AI to help imagine and make better idea tools for participatory intelligence. Applications, ecosystems, protocols, languages, algorithms, policies, stories: these are all idea tools and we probably need all of them. This is a shared mission for humanity, not a VC plan for value-extraction. That's the point of participatory.
Google used to say it was on a mission for humanity. So did Spotify. Maybe it still does.
How is this mission funded? Is it a non-profit? (Not that non-profits can’t be corrupted a la OpenAI.)
It’s funded by the Alexa Fund and Eric Schmidt and other VCs.
The Amazon Alexa Fund is a venture capital fund established by Amazon to support companies that are enhancing voice technology and AI. It aims to foster innovation in the voice technology ecosystem.
How is this going to go? Well, how have things like this gone in the past?
