Whoa, NYC has a Central Park squirrel census map. There's a lot of black squirrels.

However:

…the NYC Open Data Week Multi-Park Squirrel Count did not rely on a rigorous methodology…

I was wondering about that. It would have been amazing if they had a way to uniquely identify the squirrels and to count them all at roughly the same time.
