I saw a bunch of helicopters yesterday, and I thought it might be some kind of ICE operation. I asked motorcycle cop what the helicopters were, and he said he had no idea.
They turned out to be news copters getting footage of the protests at Powderhouse Square. They were protesting the
abduction of Rumeysa Ozturk, a Fulbright scholar, by ICE. There's
video of that.
ICE did this in defiance of a court order. This is, without hyperbole, entering dictatorship territory. When paramilitary force is used in
explicit defiance of the law, that's "shithole country" territory.
There's protests at 4 PM today in Harvard Square and at 6 PM at Somerville city hall.
