- Dropped off, picked up.
- Job.
- Called Mr. Music. They didn't have it on their web site, but they did have a used Roland Micro Cube! Shipping was $20, so I went for that so that I wouldn't have to drive to Allston.
- Made dinner.
- Read, watched more about ground source heat pumps. I wasn't understanding how it got air from the the 50°F underground temperature to 70°F. It's actually simple: The heat pump works on the fluid the same way the air source heat pump works on the outside air (by extracting heat from it by using pressure lower a refrigerant's boiling point to make it evaporate and absorb heat energy). It's just much less work to start from 50°F instead of whatever the temperature is outside.
Today was the first day of school. The guy has been excited since the tour a few days ago and has stayed excited so far. It was also the first day of not being in any sort of afterschool program. He got himself a snack, wrote in his journal, played Pikmin, then made a Tinker Crate lamp, all with fairly minimal help from me. Maybe this could work out?
