- Dropped off, picked up, dropped off.
- Made carnitas.
- Made a keyboard adjustment. I use the browser tab nav way often than I thought, so the shortcut for that at the lower left and lower right of the keyboard make my pinkies work too much. I'm trying them out on another layer on some thumb keys.
- Talked to a financial advisor. Verified that my idea that probably wouldn't work actually wouldn't work, and it was good to hear why.
- Client C work.
- Talked to someone currently at Recurse who's an audio engineer. We had this interesting talk about how weird it is that sometimes browsers end up being better at things than software built for more specific purposes is. He was saying that Avid won't deal with H264 and will force you to convert to an uncompressed format, but browsers are really good at decoding at arbitrary positions in a video quickly. It's lot like browsers being good at kerning when so many apps and libraries are terrible at it. This was really refreshing.
- Went to see an apartment. Got all the stuff together to apply for it.
- Made Chipotle-style burritos. They were good! The secret to the rice is getting each grain coated in oil and lime juice at room temperature for a little while, which I heard from Katie is the secret to restaurant-style fried rice.
- Katt found out that the owner of the apartment is a local nut who has lost like 20 runs for city council. He says stuff like "all lives matter" and answers question about whether we should build affordable housing with statements like there's 200 nationalities trying to get affordable housing. We found out he is also a bad landlord who sits in front of his house saying weird things to passersby. So, we cancelled our application.
