I learned two basic things from this Talking Politics
episode about technopopulism (which sounds sort of like applying metrics-driven corporate methods to politics):
- The Five-Star Party on Italy originally set out to bring more direct democracy to Italy via technology. (Online referendums, etc.) I always assumed they were just nationalist populists.
- Macron is a populist! He seemed very establishment because he ran again Le Pen, a Nazi, but I guess he was also playing the populist game. And he is also, in fact, establishment, which makes it more interesting.
