Some deep post-drop off insights:
- It’s way easier to walk in Medford than in Manhattan. You do have to watch out at street crossings, but you can otherwise let your guard down. You don’t have to get your kid out of the way of fast-moving oncomers most of the time.
- The dog poo on the corner finally got cleaned up! It’s been there for over a month. Was it a person? Was it nature? Either way, It Got Better.
- A contractor’s van has been parked in front of the neighbors’ house for the last few days. It has no text on it, just an icon and a QR code. I finally broke down and scanned the QR code. It decodes to URL with a domain whose registration has lapsed.
- The guy has gotten really good at the morning. He gets dressed, gets his whole breakfast eaten, brushes his teeth, gets his shoes tied on time without us having to get on him about it now. With extra reading time to spare. All of these days of getting better at stuff are cool. I need to have some of those, myself.
