But he was from a Chicago Democratic machine background, so he would also express admiration for Richard J. Daley and Mike Madigan. He'd talk about how Mike Madigan would cut off congresspeople's mic in the Illinois house like that was cool.
I imagine he is pro-Trump because most formerly moderate Republicans have adopted him and because he just loves big shows of power.
