I voted, and it was mostly straightforward. For councilors, I voted straight ticket Our Revolution, the progressive slate. Four out of the six others are MAGA, and the other two may be, but at the least are “Old Medford” low taxes no funding guys.
For school committee, I almost went straight Our Revolution, but had to fit in Kingsley, who is a former principal of a special needs school (and coincidentally, the guy’s friend’s mom). I reluctantly left out Parks, who has a good vision, but is less directly qualified than the other OR candidates.
For the charter, I could have gone either way. It is nice to have a modern charter, but I don’t want to extend the mayoral term, nor do I want a ward-centric system in which you could end up in a ward in which your vote doesn’t count.
I’m worried about this election. The MAGA guys somehow have the funding to have vans driving around with illuminated images of them on them. And I’ve talked about the yard sign thing.
Well, it can’t get any more shit than the national situation.
