I started a textbook discussion group that had its first meeting tonight. To prep, all I did was note a few things I thought was interesting in the chapter we read and mentioned them and asked if anyone else wanted to talk about what they noticed.
No one said anything. It was awkward.
There was some interesting chat about audio software standards, though.
I realized in the middle of the meeting is that the key to these things is that you do the exercises in the book. That way, you actually have something to talk about. So, for the next meeting, we are doing that.
