Indeed. Why doesn't everyone just do this?
The National Assembly passed the resolution demanding an end to martial law at 1:03 am. That was not enough to stop Yoon, however. Yoon once again called Lee Jin-woo at 1:13 am to say, “Apparently, 190 lawmakers were in the chamber. That being said, we can’t confirm that there were actually 190 of them. Even if the declaration has been lifted, it doesn’t matter; I can declare martial law a second or even a third time. Keep going with your operation.”
Various military officers at multiple levels stalling or outright refusing to carry out his orders is what caused this insurrection to fail. I hope we get the same support when our time comes (again).
