Christa, I found out Fastmail fired as many union workers as they could. Here is my letter (based on Christa’s) to support@fastmail.com, which you can also email if you’re a customer.
Hello,
I have been a Fastmail customer for six years. By and large, I’ve liked it and felt like I’m making an ethical choice.
However, after hearing that Fastmail laid off 60% of their employees’ union’s bargaining unit, including the bargaining committee, I no longer think this is true. While you don’t mine my email so you can target me in all sorts of other contexts like Google does, things like this make me think that you don’t fully understand why people choose your service.
Please reinstate the workers and to bargain with the union in good faith for a fair contract so I don’t have to migrate to Proton Mail.
