Today, we learned that flights can be delayed, but also undelayed.
We got an email at 4:30 AM saying our flight at 9 would be delayed about 45 minutes. Another email at 6:48 said it would be delayed a full hour. So, we thought we had extra time.
I used that time to work out the last problems in my makeshift remote security camera system. Then, we got an email at 7:27 saying it was back on at the original time. But we didn’t see this right away.
When we did see it at 8, I was still messing with the camera, and I had to get dressed and pack the electronics, and we only had an hour until the flight.
The maps app said there was a 19-minute delay on 93.
Fortunately, I found out that didn’t apply to the HOV lane. Rolling by miles of stopped cars will probably be the highlight of the day.
Despite Terminal C being further from the parking than expected, we did make it.
The lesson is that flights are a multi-faceted danger and should be avoided.
