I finally put the treadmill back together. Because the conditions in which it came apart were a nightmare, I assumed putting it back together would be a nightmare. It wasn’t!
Our move two years ago involved movers that changed the day of our move, then
didn’t show up. The other movers I found that same day disagreed with their sales team about what they’d move, so none of our boxes nor the treadmill were moved. So, my friends heroically moved the boxes, and after that, I went back to the old place that night to disassemble the treadmill and move it myself.
I was able to take the console off, but I didn’t have the right Allen/torx wrench to get the legs that held the console up off. So, I wouldn’t be able to get this through the condo basement stairs. I gave up and offered it to the new owners who said no, you have to move it out.
So, I hired a separate set of smaller scale movers to get it out months later.
It was a hassle to find them. They had to do
even more disassembly to get it out of the condo. According to that post, they did reassemble the deck, and I started reassembling some of it that night. When the legs wouldn’t fit in the slots in the base, apparently that broke me, and I’ve dreaded putting it back together since.
It actually wasn’t so bad. I didn’t have the aforementioned torx wrench, but I do have a drill bit/driver kit with a jillion bits (worth it if you can afford it, BTW). I think it took 30 minutes or so.
