These are posts about my tourist-style expeditions into Noita. I'm not good at the game, but I really enjoy seeing weird things and dying in wacky and varied ways.
The peak of Mount Secret Area.
There's rocks you can kick off the edge that hangs over the mine entrance. It didn't seem to do anything.
I didn't know what to do, so I sprayed some blood around.
Blood can freeze!
I left the mountain and started heading right. It's nice out there!
I came to this weird underwater device and could not figure out what to do with it. I wasn't carefully watching my O2, so I ended up losing a lot of my hp here. The rest of my journey in the Outside was done with 3 hp.
There's a whole desert that you could totally miss in this game!
The desert is hot.
I really wish that I had not run out of bombs.
Cool Sonic-looking loop, I thought.
Every desert must have a pyramid.
There's stuff inside the pyramid. I wished I could get in, but again, no bombs.
The top has an orb, though!
That's a big secret!
The secret is an earthquake spell, which costs 120 mana. I've never had a wand with that capacity.
This thing was labeled an "Essence Eater" so I shot it. Nothing happened, I think.
This machine looked cool, but I couldn't make it run. Probably requires bombs.
I came across another one of these devices, and I kicked it! It was a record player than played some cool desert fusion.
The desert ended in a craggy cliff.
Whoa, there's a ??? area at the top of the cliff.
This thing was in ???! I could know if I imagined it, but I think the first time it appeared, a flash revealed a green thing inside of it for a second? Again, no bombs, so I couldn't open it up, if that's how you're supposed to do it.
So, I went back leftward to the mines. Looking at this thing during the daytime, I realized it was actually a giant animal skull.
So, I ended up going back into the regular mines after all that, and actually made it to Holy Mountain on 3 hp! But after that I died in the next level like normal.
I ran into a pack of three really tough guys at the beginning of the Snowy Depths. My first idea was to use my cool vertical barrier wand to keep them back, but they could shoot through the barrier, even if they couldn't pass it themselves.
Then, I decided to take shots then retreat into the shaft that drops into the Snowy Depths because it's narrow, and my bouncy beam could cover a lot of it. It did kill some of them, but it also attracted more of them.
So, I started retreating further into the Holy Mountain ruins, but I got cornered and lost my extra life. I did win but was hurt badly, then got killed by the first guy who found me after the standoff. At least I got a lot of blood and gold!
