Robin Sloan has a
brilliant, feverish what-if, packaged as a very sincere-sounding media empire pitch. I love the concept of a really roundabout way to fix our country.
And it's a side point, but I think there's some truth to the relationship between popular books and movies:
We've both read plenty of novels where you can see the screenplay moving just under the skin. Our innovation will be our shamelessness, which will be total. Everyone will know exactly what's up, and because they know, buying this book will become a vote: YES, make this movie! And while you're at it: make this reality, too.
