Kim's Convenience, a show about a Korean family in Toronto (?). The parents are first-generation immigrants. It has some laughs, but the way the son says 엄마 is jarring. Should be separation between the syllables. Um-ma, not umma.
Other gripes:
- The dad's accent is over the top. Korean people work on this show; I guess the actor did his best.
- I sort of understand why they had the mom and dad speak English to each other when alone, but they should've sucked it up and gone with Korean with subtitles. No way a couple in that situation actually speak English to each other.
- I find it highly unlikely a man is that generation would have a beard like that.
Anyway, cool to see this show even exists!
